Is it worth ceramic coating your headers?
A ceramic header coating also provides protection against the corrosive materials in the exhaust. Ceramic is a highly durable substance that resists corrosion and stands up to a large amount of abuse. Properly coated headers are thus much more durable than the thinner pipes of uncoated headers.
Can you ceramic coat cast iron headers?

Ceramic Coated Headers are the best option for performance and durability. Most people like the way they look and the finish will last longer than paint.
Do stainless steel headers need to be ceramic coated?
In terms of durability and corrosion resistance, stainless wins over mild-steel headers that are coated only externally with ceramic. Headers coated inside and out with ceramic should last just this side of forever, or at least comparable to stainless.
Can you ceramic coat cast iron exhaust manifolds?
1) You can Ceramic Coat pretty much any substrate i.e. steel, aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, magnesium, titanium, etc, etc…… 2) There is no correlation between Ceramic Coating and Powder Coating. Ceramic Coating is applied as a wet spray or as a plasma spray.
Can headers be powder coated?
Yes, you can but it is not advisable. Powder coating can protect your exhaust headers and system. However, powder cures at 450°F. The temperatures experienced at the headers are more than that.
Can you ceramic coat over chrome?
Yes, a nano ceramic coating, like Armor Shield IX, is completely safe to use on a chrome plated, chrome wrapped, chrome powder coated, or even spray-on chrome coated surfaces. No, a ceramic coating will not change the reflective properties, or add a tint of color to the chrome itself.
