Brean Down is a National Trust property which is a 1.5 mile headland stretching out to sea. There are a set of step steps (around 200) up the side of Brean Down which take you to the top for amazing views, including Weston-super-Mare on the far side.

Can you walk from Uphill to Brean Down?
This walk follows the coast as much as possible between Uphill and Brean. The first part of the walk is alongside the river Axe and roads leading to Brean. The second part of the walk is along the beach at Brean north to and over Brean Down offering wonderful views.

Where do you park for Brean Down?
Cove Cafe
Parking: 200 yards, at Cove Cafe at the bottom of Brean Down. Car park opens with shop and café. Car park closes at 5:30pm. Parking Charge: £4.50 all day (high season) £2 all day (low season), parking is free for National Trust members.
Where is Berrow beach?
Berrow South lies towards the southern end of Berrow Flats, a 6-mile stretch of sand and mudflats between Burnham-on-Sea and Brean Down. The beach here is flat and sandy, backed by dunes.
Can you swim in the sea at Brean?
Brean and Berrow beach stretches from Brean Down to Burnham on Sea and is over seven miles long. It has the second highest tidal range in the world. As long as you use some common sense and swim when the tide is in it is an extremely safe beach for swimming.
Can you park on Brean beach at high tide?
You can park your car at the National Trust car park besides Brean Down. Remember that the tide rises faster near Brean Down and it is also dangerous to approach the water at low tide due to mud. You should respect the warning notices and keep off the rocks of the Down as they can be slippery, especially when wet.
